PAST TO THE PRESENT-THE BEAUTY OF MENIFEE
by Mikayla Giddens

I wanted to show how much Menifee has grown, starting in a more westernized setting, the untouched and unlived ground. The sides is where progression starts; a map of Menifee, the 215, the farmlands and the poppies that bloom during the spring. The other side display newer additions; the paloma wash bridge, pickleball and basketball courts–quartz ranch or La Ladera Park, and bike trails–Greer Ranch trailhead, and an image of the suburbs, to show the community and beauty being outside in Menifee. The back image has the countryside marketplace, as well as Menifee Lakes, and the country club golf course.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
In my art I always want to merely show the beauty around me–I am a college student studying art and teaching, and I have lived in Menifee for the past 15 years and can truly call it home, knowing the inside and out of the landmarks of the town. In this piece I used a multitude of alcohol markers, pens and even layered most of the elements. I wanted to make you feel like you fell into the heart of Menifee, being able to showcase as much as possible, having all the most popular parts about it.
